Bishop's Castle

RECYCLE CARDBOARD: A new monthly service has started on Saturdays to collect cardboard and garden waste for recycling. A supervised dustcart will be in the Auction Yard from 8.30-11.30am to collect up the cardboard and green waste for making into compost. The scheme is another innovation from South Shropshire District Council and it points out the new service is in addition to the normal fortnightly household skip that calls at the Auction Yard. Plastic and laminated materials like milk cartons cannot be accepted but cardboard packets and boxes will be suitable. Cooked kitchen waste, soil and rubble are not suitable for recycling and must be disposed of in other acceptable ways. Dates for the cardboard and garden waste collection will be printed regularly in the newspaper and for more details call 01584 813396.   more...
