CONCERT GOES WITH A BANG: Relatives and friends thoroughly enjoyed the annual concert given by the music pupils of Elisabeth Knight. The evening was entitled `A Few of our Favourite Fings" because this year pupils chose their own favourites. The repertoire included traditional tunes, classical and modern pieces, with the Beatles, Elton John and Geri Halliwell finding their way onto the programme. In the interval there was a party atmosphere as everyone shared the refreshments they had brought. The second half began with a bang as Henry Beddoes gave his version of `Haydn's Surprise' with a concealed balloon. There was more drama when a power-cut stopped a keyboard player mid-piece! The concert continued by candle-light until power was restored. Those taking part were: Claire Lennox, Edward Middleton, Lynsey Wyke, Eleanor Evans, Jenny Rodgers, Becky Corfield, Leanne Franks, Elizabeth Reynolds, Maya Kennet, Heidi Luckhurst, Claire Hockly, Henry Beddoes, Amy Evans, Catherine Reynolds, Stuart Richards, Lucy Rogers, Sarah Richards, Jacqui Owen and Ben Beddoes. Donations amounting to £35 were sent to Hope House Children's Hospice.   more...
